What can I do to keep guests from getting bored at my Halloween Party?

I’m 16 (turing 17 that day, actually) and the guests are all going to be around that age, too. I’m already planning on having a costume contest, food, and music. Although I don’t really know what else to do except talk, and if people aren’t really talking, what can I do to keep them from getting bored?
